In Memory of Allen Kelley: Support for His Family

I’m Torre Catalano. I have the honor of calling Allen my best friend, my brother in the trenches of production, my teacher, and my partner in crime.

With the full support of his family, I’m organizing this fundraiser to help cover the cost of in-home end of life care as Allen nears the final stage of his battle with cancer.

Allen is a singular human being. A true on-set renaissance man. An artist, an intellectual, a builder of beautiful things. He’s sharp, curious, deeply funny, and endlessly generous with his mind and his heart. He’s the kind of person who makes everything around him more thoughtful, more creative, more alive. If you’ve ever had one too many with him and heard him talk about his days in the Yukon shooting for “Ice Road Truckers,” well, consider your life better for it. He tells the best stories.

Those stories were yesterday. Today, Allen is paralyzed from the chest down due to a very rare tumor in his spinal cord. He requires constant in-home care, and the financial toll on his family is immense. His wife Angela has been by his side every step of the way, doing everything she can to keep him comfortable, cared for, and surrounded by love. His daughters Ileana and Athena have kept a smile on his face. They all need your help.

The goal is simple: to ease the burden on Allen’s family and make his final days as peaceful, dignified, and love-filled as possible. Just how he always made us feel on set: Safe and taken care of.
