My name is Adelia, and I’m a chronically ill, bedbound woman in Sweden. I’ve spent the last 15 years fighting a progressive, disabling illness, and now I’m fighting for something even more basic: the right to survive with dignity.
After multiple denied applications, I’m now on my 4th and final attempt to get long-term disability benefits approved. This time, my lawyer believes that an oral court hearing could be decisive. It may be my only real chance to finally secure the support I’ve needed for years.
But the cost for him to represent me at the hearing is 25,000 SEK. My family can help with 5,000, but I still need to raise the remaining 20,000 SEK — and I need it within the next few weeks or we may lose the window to act.
I know legal fundraisers don’t always feel as urgent as hospital bills or life-saving surgery. But please understand — if I don’t get disability approved, I could lose all income entirely. Social security is not guaranteed to support me long-term. Without disability approval, there may be nothing left to fall back on.
That would mean no safety, no independence, no future.
And while my illness keeps me mostly bedbound, I still hold on to the things that give me joy — I create digital art and 3D models for virtual worlds, and I write and record music when I’m able. These things are my lifeline. But I can’t keep creating, can’t keep surviving, if I lose what little support I have.
I’ve already been through years of paperwork, appeals, and medical assessments — all while being too sick to even leave my home. I rely completely on a close family member for all my daily needs: cooking, cleaning, getting my medication, and helping with basic tasks I can no longer do myself. We live together, and they’ve carried this burden quietly for years — but we can’t do it alone anymore.
This hearing could finally bring stability, safety, and some peace. But we can’t reach it unless we can afford this final step.
❤️ If you can donate — thank you.
❤️ If you can share this — thank you.
Everything helps. Every bit matters.
❗️Important Note:
Because I’m on basic social assistance, I’m not allowed to receive money into my bank account without penalty. That’s why a trusted family member is handling the funds on my behalf. All donations go directly toward legal fees for this disability case.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring!
