Hi everyone — my name is Corrine Blackthorn. I’m a disabled, transgender woman trying to rebuild my life from the ground up, and I need your help to make it safely across the border into Canada.

I’m asking for $15,000 to cover relocation expenses and meet the minimum financial requirement of having $10,000 CAD in the bank — which is necessary to enter and begin the immigration process. This move isn’t about running away. It’s about survival, safety, and stability.

Why I Need Help

Right now, I’m facing homelessness and worsening medical challenges here in Oregon. I live with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, POTS, osteoarthritis, and chronic pain that severely limit my mobility. I use a power wheelchair on bad days and rely on accessible transportation to get around.

In the U.S., navigating disability systems as a trans woman has become nearly impossible — resources are stretched thin, shelters aren’t safe, and disability assistance can take months or years.

But in Canada, I have family who have offered me a safe place to stay. There, I can access consistent healthcare, apply for remote or hybrid work through vocational rehabilitation, and begin to rebuild a life where I’m not constantly fighting to survive.

• Pet care and transport (so my ESA and pets can come safely)
