This is hard. I'm the one to always give, I'm the one to take care of people. People don't need to take care of me because everything is always '"fine"; it will all be figured out.'
I've decided it's time....we need help.
Our landlord is selling our building and wants us and our 3 kids out. We don't live in a rent controlled area; he has no responsibility to help us move. He gave us a few months to leave but it just isn't enough time financially for us to do that; that's the part we need help with.
Nathaniel (my husband) is a Union Plumber. He has been out of work, for years, because of a work injury. We've been dealing with a workers compensation case, and stressful word isn't the word for it. He can't work and the pay they give him monthly is pathetic.
Most weeks I work 6+ days. Recently I've started working as a Nurse Assistant at a nursing home and I watch kids on the side. Some days I work doubles just to keep us afloat, while trying to save every penny to move (and buy a car). All those hours and it isn't enough.
To add insult to injury I have to have surgery in July to fix a hernia and won't be able to work for a few weeks.
We are planning on moving out of LA, where the rent is cheaper and our kids will have a safe place to just be kids. I imagine it will be hard to find a place to rent out of town, since our income is low right now.
My dream is to have a few months rent paid, so I have time to find a decent job.
Please help.
We need help financially to get us in to a new apartment.
We need donations.
We need loans.
We need anything.
At this point we don't know what to do.
It's so so hard for me to ask for help, especially money. Having a safe home for my kids is way more important than me not wanting to ask. We need to get over this rough patch and need your help to do that.
I can't wait for the day that everything will actually be fine and not just "fine".
