Heather’s Service Dog Training
Spende geschützt
John 9:1-4 "As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2 His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind? 3 “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. 4 As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work."
Hi, this fundraiser benefits Heather Hobbs and her need for a service dog and service dog training costs are astronomical. Heather strongly believes that her life and story were meant to benefit others and to spread Gods message. She desires to do kingdom work until the Lord takes her home. Heather was able to get an amazing goldendoodle named Lucas when he was 5 months old. He is now 18 months old and has grown into a big boy perfect for Heather's needs. Lucas has had training from Amber Jester and knows his basic commands and He is amazing in public and goes everywhere with Heather. However, he needs more specific training for service dog tasks.
Heather needs a service dog because she has recently began having joint pain periodically that is so excruciating that she cannot stand and must use a wheelchair. She has new diagnosis that cause her to be jerky and unbalanced. Her rheumatologist stated that her arms and legs are becoming weaker. Picking things up from the floor is difficult. Heather was born with congenital heart defects that wreaked havoc on her body until she had a heart transplant in May 2013. The medicines from transplant have destroyed her body in other ways. Heather was also born with a muscle disorder that cause her muscles to be weaker than they should be. This has been a problem all of her life, but it is now becoming more difficult. She was recently diagnosed with cavernomas on her brain and spine that are congenital and genetic. These cavernomas are small right now but may begin to enlarge as she ages causing seizures or possible strokes. Heather needs a dog who can be working for her as she loves him, and Lucas is the dog for her.
Heather recently had her first seizures and is eager for Lucas to learn to push an emergency button to get help if Heather falls or has a seizure. It’s important to Heather to remain independent for as long as possible.
Please, consider giving to help Heather remain mobile and active in serving the Lord. Anyone who knows her knows that she loves people and serving with others! Let’s keep her going for as long as we can!
