Heather Zervas -Path to a new Liver

Donation protected

Hello to all who read this.  This is a campaign about a second chance at life for Heather Zervas, someone who impacted many of us positively with her first chance at life.
Heather was diagnosed with a rare genetic disposition to blood clots, one of which went to her liver and damaged it to the extent she needed a liver transplant.  She spent a considerable amount of time in ICU at one of the Southeast's leading transplant hospitals, Jackson Memorial in Miami waiting, surviving, for a liver and Thursday evening, June 16th, that opportunity came.   Her surgery was a success and thus far the doctors are encouraged, but the journey from here is a long and challenging road, and one that will require tremendous support.

Before we discuss the support needed, first and foremost, we ask everyone in whatever way they choose, to remember the family that lost a loved one that was the donor of the liver so that Heather can have this second chance.

Heather joined our company as a sales assistant, J&J Family of Farms, in the fall of 2015.   Heather is truly unique, she has faced this adversity with a smile, grace, dignity, composure and a positive attitude that very few people could do.  She has been an inspiration to all of us.  She is without fail, a very positive influence on those in life and we are confident her second chance is God's plan for her to continue to have that positive influence on others, wherever and whoever she comes in contact with.

Heather faces a challenge ahead and has limited resources to be able to meet the challenge and this is where we all can help.  She will need medication for life.  She will not be able to work for 6-12 months.  She will need to relocate from her current 3rd floor apartment to first floor accomodations.  In addition to existing medical bills, she will have further medical costs, travel to medical facilities, hotels in those facilities for outpatient stays.

So, our first request is please share this story with everyone that you possibly can.  Everyone needs to know Heather's story, if nothing else, to aspire to have the smile, dignity and grace which Heather did, when facing their own adversity.

However, we all can help.  We are seeking $250,000 to help partially cover the costs she has faced and will face for the rest of her life.  Her path of recovery needs to have one less obstacle so we are beginning this campaign.  Heather will also need volunteer support for many months getting medicine from the pharmacy, driving her to doctors, clinics, hospitals and therapies, cooking, cleaning....so the time of as many people as possible, will be invaluable.  If you have hotel points or frequent flier miles, please let us know, as she will need to travel and her mom and others will need travel arrangements as well.  Whatever support you can give, please do, we assure you, she has been a good steward with her life thus far and we have faith that she will be an exceptional influence with her second chance and our world needs more people like Heather so please support, share....whatever you can do.

Lastly, regardless of your faith, your thoughts and/or prayers are invaluable.  Please keep Heather, her children, her mom, and those additional family and friends who will be with her on her journey of recovery and her second chance in life, in your thoughts and/or prayers.

Thank you all,
