My heart is broken. The love of my life, my husband of 45 years, my best friend—Willard Dale Griever, known to all who loved him as “Bubba”—passed away peacefully on the afternoon of April 17, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 64 years old.

Bubba was a man of strength, compassion, and quiet humor. He faced each hardship with grace and gave our family the kind of love you never get over. Our world has changed forever, and while we grieve his loss, we are also facing very real challenges that I never imagined I would be in the position to ask for help with.

Several days ago, my son Jeremy shared a message that laid bare the urgency of our situation.

From Jeremy:

My dad, Bubba, has been battling cancer for years, but we’ve now come to the final chapter. He has passed since I first posted this fundraiser to help our family.

My little sister, Angela, took extended unpaid leave from her job of 10 years to care for Dad full time. My mom, disabled herself, and unable to do much physically. They've done everything they could to get by on Social Security, but this moment has left us financially overwhelmed.

The needs are immediate. Funeral expenses, travel to where we will lay his body to rest and the cost of relocating and caring for my mom all far beyond what we can manage alone. We are doing our best—but we can’t do it all without help.
