My family and I are raising money for my baby brother.(Pictured are him and his daughter) This past Thanksgiving, we learned that he had been diagnosed with kidney disease. He’s had Type I diabetes(Adolescent Diabetes)since he was 21 years old and it has progressed to his adult years. He now requires 3 sessions of weekly dialysis. An application for a kidney transplant has been submitted. He’s just 38 years young. As a result, he is now no longer able to work. Funds are slim to none for him. He has applied for short-term and long-term disability, including state Social Security Disability Insurance. These things take some time to process so that those benefits can be put in place for him.
