Headstone.... to weather the STORM

Donation protected
My daughter, Stormie (Hibshman - 24) died 8 months ago.

I need you to know that there was so much more to my daughter than ‘Stormie - the Addict.’

Stormie was my Guiding Light - my everything. I tried so hard to keep her alive... She told me every day how much she loved me and I told her I couldn’t live without her. I needed her!! I never imagined that the day would come when I wouldn’t have a choice, but now, life without her is unbearable. And yet, I can hear Stormie telling me, “Get your Big Gurl Panties on Mom – you got this!!” I try to focus on her daughter, Kionah (4). I know it’s what Stormie would want. At 6’ 2”, Stormie gave the best Bear Hugs. She loved everyone so much and was always there to help.

I am asking for help with purchasing a Headstone for her grave. I will also make a donation to Not One More and any remaining funds will be set aside for her Daughter, Kionah for her education (when she turns 18).  Stormie loved her daughter greatly. She was so proud to be Kionah's Mommy as she never thought she would be able to have a child after all of her back surgeries. Stormie would want to make sure her little girl has the opportunities that she, herself, lost.

THIS is Stormie's Story - Stormie was an All Star Athlete. Eight years ago, when Stormie was 17, she had her first of over ten surgeries for an injury to her back. Within 2 weeks she developed Meningitis, an infection in her blood and body. Stormie then needed 3 more surgeries to repair a spinal fluid leak.

Stormie fought her way back as she started her senior year in high school. It all began a few years prior.  As a freshman, Stormie qualified for the District III Championships in the Shot Put, Javelin and Triple Jump; earning a 7th place medal in the shot put and a bronze medal in the javelin which qualified her for the PIAA Championships. She placed 16th in the state in the javelin as a freshman.

As a sophomore, Stormie again qualified for the District III Championships in the Shot Put and Javelin.  Placing 3rd in the Shot Put and 2nd in the Javelin, she qualified for the PIAA championships…finishing 12th in the state in the javelin as a sophomore.  She also medaled in both the shot put and javelin at the Artic Blast invitational and YAIAA Track and Field Championships as well.

As a junior, Stormie broke the school and YAIAA Championship Meet Javelin record with a throw of 134’9” at the meet.  She went on the next week to win the District III Championship in the javelin and medal in the shot put, and the discus throw.  During the Harrisburg Diocesan Invitational held at Lancaster Catholic High School, she broke the school record in the discus throw, setting an invitational record with a throw of 119’1”.  As a junior, she was the team’s leading point scorer with 122 points.

Her Senior year, Stormie broke the school record in the shot put with a throw of 38’1” at the Artic Blast Invitational, held at Northern York High School.  She scored 122 points again in her senior season, tying for leading point scorer on the team. Stormie excelled in every sport she endeavored and remains the most accomplished thrower in the history of Delone Catholic High School.

However, through all of this, she was fighting to overcome her back injury and numerous surgeries. As a result of all of the surgeries, Stormie became addicted to pain meds. In 2016, the doctors stopped all pain meds and she turned to heroin. She tried, with all her might to overcome the addiction that had taken control of her mind and her body.  She made numerous attempts at rehab and counselors, but this illness became stronger than anything she could overcome.  Heartbreaking as it is, on October 24th, 2018, Stormie died of a Fentanyl/Heroin overdose.

My baby girl was a Loving Mother, a Daughter, a sister to 6 siblings, a Niece, an Aunt, and a Granddaughter.

She is missed so much by us all.

My Dad died 4 months ago, and I know they are together, catching up, and watching over us.  May they Rest In Peace

My daughter always thanked me for ‘Loving her and letting her know she was someone worth loving”

Stormie was bold.

She was silly and strong.

Stormie was confident.

She was independent and

intelligent.

Stormie was brave & fierce.

Stormie was REAL in a world full of Fake!

My Stormie was Beautifully Broken. Any donations no matter how great or how small, will be greatly appreciated.  I am hoping to place a headstone on her grave so her daughter will have a place to go to connect with her Mommy and have a representation of all that her Mommy was.  Thank you, in advance, for your support.
