Help Hawaiian Surfing Adventures Rebuild After Hurricane Lowell
Aloha, my name is Juliana, and Hawaiian Surfing Adventures is my family’s business in Hanalei.
For the past 27 years, three generations of our ʻohana have worked together to share our love of the ocean with visitors and our community. What began as a surf lesson business has grown to include surfboard rentals and our small boutique, With Love From Hanalei.
Hurricane Lowell devastated our business. The hurricane tore off the roof of our building, allowing water to pour into the shop and causing extensive damage throughout. While we were fortunate enough to salvage most of our inventory, many of our rental surfboards were left in need of repair.
Unfortunately, we did not have the insurance coverage needed to help with these losses. As a small, family-owned business, the financial impact has been overwhelming. Being forced to close means not only facing the cost of rebuilding, but also trying to keep up with our ongoing expenses while our family has no business income.
We are asking for your help to get Hawaiian Surfing Adventures back on its feet. Funds raised will go toward repairing our shop, replacing damaged equipment and inventory, covering necessary business expenses while we are closed, and helping us reopen our doors.
For over two decades, this business has been a part of Hanalei, and it means so much to our ‘ohana. We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has taken a surf lesson, rented a board, shopped with us, or simply shared a kind word over the years.
Now, we are asking our community and friends near and far to help us through this difficult chapter. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference and bring us one step closer to reopening and getting back into the water. If we receive more assistance than we ultimately need for our recovery through disaster relief, any remaining funds will be donated to the Hanalei Initiative to help support the recovery and future of our community.
