This is the amazing story of our 1 month old daughter. She is a miracle! Beautiful, strong and sweet. But deep down she is a fighter and most importantly a faithful child of god!
Havana was born May 3rd. She was born with a deformed heart valve. We were not given great options by the surgical team at Children's Hospital so when she was 5 days old we took her home on hospice. We explained to Cruz, my son, that when doctors can fix you you go to a hospital. When doctors cant fix you, u go home and let god fix you. Either on earth or in heaven. They said she would pass in 2 days. We took her home, loved on her, Cruz would even read to her before bed time and 6 days later she was still fighting!
We took her back for a second opinion on May 13th. The cardiologist told us that while we were home with her her heart grew just big enough for a surgery. She had open heart surgery on May 18th to insert a mechanical valve. The surgery had a 50/50 chance she would make it through. Our fighter made it through surgery and recovered quickly. Shocking the hospital staff and all her family!!!
This past Friday the 29th we packed her up to take her home and enjoyed the weekend with her. Although Sunday afternoon she started turning blue. We rushed her to the ER. Our worst fear came true. A blood clot attacked her valve, she was in bad shape.
This 6lbs 4oz super hero endured another 8 hour radical open heart surgery Sunday night. 2 major open heart surgeries in the 1st month of her life. She is now in recovery and really showing the world her will to be in it.
Her road is long but we have faith that she has a purpose and god isnt taking her anytime soon. She is a fighter and has encouraged us and so many others in her 31 days of life. We keep hearing people say they have prayer and God back in their life because of our daughter Havana. We are so blessed during this difficult time!!!
We are setting up this account to help cover her medical bills. These situations bring so much stress and specifically financial stress. Thank you for hearing her story! Thanks for sending prayers her way. And thank you for supporting our family!!!
