Phillip "Hatch" Hatcher has always loved adventure. As an avid triathlete and mountain biker, he spent countless hours exploring the outdoors and pushing himself to new challenges.
Eight years ago, everything changed.
While mountain biking in the mountains of North Carolina, Hatch suffered a devastating accident that broke his neck, leaving him a quadriplegic. Although his injury changed the way he experiences the world, it never took away his adventurous spirit.
Today, Hatch's dream is to experience a true Hike of a Lifetime with Luke5Adventures.
In April 2027, Hatch hopes to travel with Luke5Adventures to Utah's breathtaking National Parks and descend to the bottom of the Grand Canyon using Luke5Adventures' specialized all terrain hiking equipment and the support of trained volunteer Sherpas. For many, these places are bucket list destinations. For Hatch, this journey represents freedom, adventure, and the opportunity to experience God's incredible creation in a way that would otherwise be impossible.
The total cost of this life changing trip is approximately $20,000, covering accessible transportation, lodging, meals, permits, adaptive hiking equipment, and the logistics required to make this adventure possible.
Every gift, no matter the size, brings Hatch one step closer to realizing this dream. Thank you for helping make this Hike of a Lifetime possible and for reminding Hatch that adventure doesn't end with a disability.
