Help Hannah get to Brandeis!

Hi! My name is Hannah Weisman, I am 15 years old and I live in Tucson, Arizona. I have been studying voice since I was ten years old and hope to one day become a Cantor.
I am currently very involved at my synagogue; helping to teach music to the students in the Hebrew/Sunday School, assisting the Rabbi with the Tot Shabbat services as a junior cantor, participating in Shirim (our Synagogue's choir), and assisting in the religious school classroom. I attend Tucson Magnet High School, as well as attend Tucson Hebrew High, where I continue my Hebrew and Judaic studies, as well as currently being a confirmation student. In addition, I volunteer at my local JCC in their summer camp program. I am also fortunate to have the opportunity to work with a number of local cantors here in Tucson, but I know that there is so much more to learn as I continue to grow and study.
I am very excited and honored to have recently been accepted to the prestigious summer program, BIMA, at Brandeis University which runs from July 6 through August 1, 2016. BIMA is Brandeis University’s summer arts institute for high school students who are looking to further both their Judaic education and their chosen area of the arts. In this amazing summer program, I will have the opportunity to focus on choral music, as well as deepen my connection with Judaism, through learning to prepare and lead Shabbat services, learning new Judaic music, as well as work with talented music professionals in the Boston area. I cannot wait to be immersed in this program. In addition, the opportunity to meet other Jewish teens with interests which match mine would be amazing!
The camp is residential in Boston, and since it covers all room and board for four weeks, it is costly. I have been awarded a partial scholarship from Brandeis, however I am still $1800 away from the cost of the camp, as well as needing to purchase airfare. I need to have payment in full to Brandeis by July1, 2016.
I truly appreciate all of the support I have received from my family and friends in my pursuit of Judaic knowledge and classical training. I thank you so very much for taking the time to read my story. If you are able to donate in any way, every donation will be helping me to get one step further to this goal.
