Hani has always been a healthy child. She didn’t get sick a lot. She wasn’t a fussy baby. She is always smiling and laughing and very playful even now laying in the hospital bed , she laughing and trying to be brave.
After the flu had gone through the entire family one weekend ( recently), she didn’t bounce back as quickly as her brother and sister did.
Her dad ( my brother) took her to the emergency room, as she had begun to throw up, she looked pale and was visibly weak ( he was afraid she was too dehydrated from the flu .)
After standard routine testing they discovered Hani had an extremely high count of white blood cells, and very low platelets. This was a concern, so they tested for more possibilities as to why she would be so ill.
The next day Hani was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL).
Like any teenage girl , She is sassy and headstrong and only worried about when she can get back to school and hang with her friends. She cares about her hair not looking good in the pictures and she doesn’t want to spend a lot of time lying in bed.
For her father ( Ryan), who is a single parent of 3 children, he has a lot on his plate, there are unforeseen cost that will most likely start to pile up, so I am making this page to ask people to donate to him for the many things that he may need for her journey.
This is the beginning of their journey with Leukemia. I ask that you donate anything you can and that you keep my little niece in your prayers and that any chance you get to arm yourself with knowledge and compassion on this subject, you pass that along to the next person .
Thank you,
Leah
