Veterinary Mission to Haiti

Donation protected
This Liberal Jewish veterinarian will be joining his Christian colleagues on their mission to help veterinary agents in Haiti in taking care of goats and sheep.

Though it has long disappeared from the news here stateside, Haiti is still suffering from the effects of the 2010 earthquake. 50,000 persons are still displaced and living in camps.

What will we do? We will teach the veterinary agents to perform c-sections and rumenotomies(abdominal surgery) on small ruminants. These are important operations that help preserve flocks and herds, thereby increasing food security.

How will your money be used?
$720 goes to the mission
$650 will go to transportation costs.
$300 will go the general fund of  the nonprofit I work for, PAZ, for our next project in Peru, also involving sheep and goats.
$200 will cover costs for my own children and animals while I am in Haiti.  (Yep, I need your help.)
$170 will be charged by gofundme. com

I'm leaving soon, but you can donate through March 1.

PAZ (Pan American Zoonotic Research and Prevention) is looking to expand its operations outside of Peru. Although we tend to think of Latin America as Spanish-speaking, Creole-speaking Haiti is part of it as well. Haiti is the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere, and will need our help and attention for a long time. The earthquake is receding into the past, but the suffering continues.
