HEY FRIENDS / FAMILY!!!
I want to share with you a challenging opportunity that has been presented to me through some friends here at Under Armour. From June 25th through June 28th I have been offered the chance to go on a mission trip to an orphanage in Port Au Prince, Haiti. The goal of this 4-day missions trip is to help out at the orphanage, feed the children in local neighborhoods and to learn more about the people and their culture. Below are only a few reasons for why our help is needed in Haiti:
40% of the population of Haiti is under 14, 60% of them are orphans.
72% of Haitians are illiterate (cannot read or write).
78% of Haitians live on less than $2 US Dollars per day.
While God has opened up a door for me to develop a greater heart of compassion for His people around the world, the exciting part is that you will be able to share in this compassion in several ways. First, you can help pray for me and my co-workers. We will need prayers that God will prepare us for our visit and bless our efforts as we minister to the people of Haiti. We will also need prayers that our financial needs will be met. At this time we need to raise $1,000 each to attend this trip, and that is quite a challenge!
Another way you can be involved is to help provide that financial support. Would you consider supporting me with a small donation? Whether you feel led to contribute through prayer, financially, or both, all of your support is appreciated.
