Haftom's Ethiopian Dream Fund

Donation protected
Hello family and friends,

I am currently putting together a fundraiser for a young man named Haftom, an orphan with the dream of becoming an Olympian. All proceeds go to a plane ticket to Ethiopia, where a college scholarship awaits him.

Haftom was born in Mekele, Ethopia and due to the passing of both his parents, became an orphan, staying in an orphanage until 6 years later he was adopted with his siblings by an Amrican family. In Ethopia he had to travel for 7 miles just to get to school. His dream is to become the best long distance runner and run in the Olympics.

In America, he had to overcome language barriers, challenges from his adoptive family and still pursued and perservered to attain his dreams of running. He has broken numerous high school records of his school and puts in 120 miles a week to attain his goals. In 2015 at age 16, Haftom finished the state race 4th from over 2142 runners.

In Hathom's words, running is like his blood and he lives out his dream of becoming a runner in every step he takes.  He adds: "For me, it all goes back to my biological parents passing so early in my life, they were never witness my talents, so with that, all I wants to do noting more than to make them proud, each day I use my running abilities to do that, I wanted to make my mother a legend. "

If one thing is certain, it is that Haftom is willing to go the long distance.

Please feel free to donate however much you can, all donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
