My father's name is Frank. He is honest, trustworthy, hard-working, fair, and humble. To put it simply, he is a salt of the earth man who is a gentleman through and through. He loves his family and always puts us first. He lives his life according to his strong moral values, always putting others before himself, despite the cost. He always has a smile on his face and never makes his problems known to anyone. He is a positive soul who believes in seeing the best in others and in living a selfless life. He takes everything on his own shoulders and doesn't believe in burdening others. He's a self- reliant man through and through!
My father retired two years ago after 40 years of service defending our Country, doing programming work for a third party defense contractor. Almost immediately after retiring, he learned that he had stage IV metastatic lung cancer and was given a bleak and painful prognosis, as it had spread to his bones and spine. He has never smoked a day in his life. He was very healthy, in shape and cared tirelessly for my mom and for our family.
While he knows his work environment out in Nevada was the cause of his cancer, the amazing thing about him, is that he would do it all again to protect his country and his family. That was the goal he set out to accomplish and he is happy he played a role in helping keep America safe! Instead of being bitter or angry, he spends each day battling this horrific disease while asking us what we need and always greeting us with his beautiful grin that lights up the room. His positivity is boundless and contagious!
Now it is my turn to make sure that my father is cared for. My parents have no one to help them through the daily tasks that healthy people take for granted and they are now unable to help one another, as my mother is physically disabled. I am asking for any financial support you can provide as there are so many costs associated with his cancer and his care. Any support that you offer is appreciated more than you know and will be put to good use getting him the care he needs. It can be as little as a dollar, anything helps!
While I feel terrible having to ask, I believe it is my duty to get my father the care that he so rightly deserves. If you knew my father, you would understand that no one deserves this more. Your help can assuage his worries while he battles his cancer, so that the time he does have left may be spent in peace, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Your support can make this possible!
