HUNTER, A SURVIVOR OF GANG VIOLENCE, NEEDS OUR HELP TO PAY FOR MEDICAL EXPENSES AND A PRIVACY FENCE.
Why? What happened?
Around 4:00 P.M. on a sunny summer afternoon, Hunter (not her real name; she desires a modicum of privacy since suffering from PTSD) was looking forward to enjoying a “John Denver” type concert, to be held in Minneapolis. A grandma, working full time caring for others as a nurse, she was excited to be doing something just for herself.
She had parked her car and was on her way to this small music festival, when suddenly, without warning, she felt a blow to the head so fierce that it felt like her head was exploding. A gang of 5 jumped her, robbed her, and beat her almost to death.
She awoke in the hospital, the very one in which she was working as an R.N. Pain everywhere, her face and body swollen black and blue, torn muscles in her chest and stomach, a grade 3 concussion, eye sight and cognitive thinking impaired. A vicious, violent, terrifying crime that never should have happened!
It's been more than a year since this horrific crime and she continues slowly recovering at home with her service dog. She has been living on a very small Nurses Disability Policy. Personal funds, as well as funds raised by her nurse friends and dog-owner friends right after the incident, have been depleted, leaving her without money for basic needs, much less for ongoing physical and occupational therapy.
Like many victims of violence, she is suffering from PTSD. Obviously she needs psychological counseling because of the level of terror and violence she’s endured, but the only way she can get that counseling is through the generosity of people just like you and me.
It’s hard for her to imagine never going back to nursing the sick and wounded, and she’s grieving heavily for the abilities she is likely NOT to recover without the needed therapy.
SHE MUST CONTINUE THERAPY!
Lack of money should NOT stop her from getting the therapy she needs! This is a justice issue!
What would we want for ourselves if this happened to us, and we were without adequate insurance?
I’ve told her that people care about the disabled, and that they will support her with generous contributions for her needs. Through contributing to this fund, we demonstrate that truth.
Hunter’s needs are great at this time in her life. Having given care of the sick and wounded for decades, she now finds herself dependent on the caring of others. Will we be there for her?
She deserves our caring.
She is deeply touched by our caring,
and she is grateful beyond words.
TOGETHER WE CAN GIVE ENOUGH
for needed medical attention
Please be as generous as possible!!
Help us reach our goal quickly!
Good WILL triumph
over the evil that's been done to this, our sister.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY
