Harlem Baseball Hitting Academy: Building Futures Through Baseball
The Harlem Baseball Hitting Academy (HBHA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the lives of inner-city youth, mainly in Harlem and the South Bronx, through baseball.
Founded by renowned hitting coach Youman Wilder, HBHA uses the sport to teach discipline, ethics, integrity, and hard work, while promoting academic success and personal growth.
- Elite baseball training
- Life mentoring and character building
- Academic tutoring and SAT preparation
- College recruiting trips and tournament opportunities
Our Impact:
- 400 college graduates so far, with the 2026 class expected to exceed 400
- Over $15 million in academic and athletic scholarships awarded
- Alumni include All-American high school and college athletes, as well as Major League Baseball players
- Every dollar raised goes directly to programs—$65,000 in 2025-2026 funded batting cages, travel, tournaments, and tutoring.
Our mission is to guide more African-American and Latino youth toward college rather than the prison system. By creating opportunities for higher education and professional sports, HBHA helps young men achieve greatness and become community leaders.
