HELP AN ABUSED WOMAN PAY FOR STORAGE FEES
Donation protected
UPDATE: We have set a new goal of $2400 and all we need is for 24 people to donate $100 each!
Hi my name is Laura and I am good friends with Christina. We have known each other for 20+ years.
I have set up this GoFundMe account on her behalf. Last year she endured family abuse and had to file an elder abuse case against her half-brother and his wife. Her mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and she took care of her mother, while her father was struggling mentally. During this time, she could not work so she got behind on bills, which was already difficult for her since she did not make much during Covid.
When her mother passed away, her father kicked her and landed her in the hospital. This could have been due to sundowners/dementia. She still needs surgery for the attack. Around that time, her half-brother took over her own father (not his biological father) for her inheritance. After telling police on bodycam footage that her elderly father (who is in his 80s) has dementia, her half-brother influenced Christina’s father to change the trust, put an eviction on the home her parents wanted her to have, and then pull out $175,000 of loans (dumping them on Christina’s home and using it for their own benefit). Christina had to put all of her items into 3 large storage units in Orange County, costing her an unexpected additional bill of $1,200 per month just to store items. She has then started sleeping in her car and at some point stayed with a few random men who also have a history of abuse (one who went to jail for hitting someone and another being accused of a different type of abuse of a child). Obviously, the living situation is not ideal for Christina.
She took on additional work to pay her bills including app driving. However, she got behind on her storage fees this month. We are raising money so that she can pay her storage fees and not see her items go up for auction. Her entire life’s possession are in the storage units, including beds, clothing, furniture, childhood items, all photos of her family/scrapbooks, refrigerator, washer/dryer, TVs, and so on.
Please donate if you can. We set the goal to raise $2400 so all it would take is for 24 people to donate $100 each! If you are able to set up a loan for my friend, please also let me know.
Please forward this to everyone you know who can donate, set up a loan, and/or who may have work for her. She is highly educated but is willing to take other jobs such as babysitting, house-cleaning, and so on.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for your prayerful consideration.
