Help Christian Rebuild His Life From Homelessness and Debt

My name is Christian. I’m nineteen. Federally classified as a veteran. After being medically discharged from Navy boot camp, I found myself homeless for the first time in April 2025. For over a year, I have been without a stable place to live, trying to rebuild my life after such a sudden change. During that time, I met my prior boyfriend in the Navy, and after we were both discharged, we decided to move to Washington to escape the high cost of living in California. I managed to get my driver’s license and tried to start over, but things took a turn for the worse. He often escalated showing physical violence towards me during arguments. The very first paycheck he received, he abandoned me, leaving me with maxed out credit cards and only a small amount of money to my name. He quickly forced the decision of living with his friends and had a prior history of threatening to leave me. I had to beg for help to find a temporary place to stay.

Right now, I’m having a hard time paying off the debt. I’m without any health insurance, and more than half of my debt has already gone to collections. My living situation is still unstable, and I often feel like I’m walking on eggshells around shared housing. I have very little support from and outside of my immediate family, and it’s been hard to find anyone who truly cares about my situation.

My main goal is to go to school full time and better housing so I can build a better future for myself. I’m doing my best to have the credit score for an apartment or house someday. When I tried to balance work and school in Washington, I ended up failing my classes because I couldn’t manage both. I don’t want to make that mistake again. With some help, I hope to focus on my education, get back on my feet, and finally move forward from this difficult chapter in my life. Donations will go directly toward debt, and helping lessen that debt so I can concentrate on my studies and work toward a stable future.
