Funeral Fund for Gwendolyn Yvonne Mercer-Colmes
Donation protected
Dear Family and Friends,
I am writing to you today to let you know about the loss of Gwendolyn Yvonne Mercer-Colmes. Her unexpected passing from COVID ripped our hearts out.
Gwen was a wonderful sister, mother, friend, and supporter who touched the lives of those around her. She leaves behind 3 sons, Jay jr, Joshua, and Jordan along with her former husband John Colmes Jr, a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and family members.
Gwen dedicated her life to showing love and support to her family and friends in times of need. Gwen loved to sing. She had a burning passion for music and enjoyed preforming karaoke in Germantown and Rockville.
Gwen’s obituary and funeral details can be found here https://everloved.com/life-of/gwendolyn-mercer-colmes/obituary/
The funeral service is scheduled to take place at Victory Christian Church International in Gaithersburg, MD. It will be held on 09/09/2021 with the Wake at 10am. The Wake is open to anyone. Please practice social distancing, hand hygiene, and wear a mask! It will be followed by the funeral from 11am-12:30pm. We sincerely apologize the funeral is limited to immediate family with a capacity of 70 people. We will be streaming on Facebook. We promise to keep you updated on funeral arrangements.
We are absolutely devastated by Gwen’s passing and are trying to find the funds to cover the cost of the service. Her life insurance policy was inadequate thus has placed us in a very compromising position. Gwen’s three sons were her world, and she did everything to always make sure they were taken care of. We need your help to return the favor to honor her burial wishes. Based on researching expenses and quotes we’ve received; we need to raise $7,500 dollars.
We will need to pay all funeral costs as soon as possible. We've started a fundraiser to collect donations for Gwen’s funeral service here on gofundme and Everloved.com—here is the link. https://everloved.com/life-of/gwendolyn-mercer-colmes/donate
We would love your prayers and support during this time. If you are able to do so, please consider donating. We are so very grateful for every donation during this difficult time.
With love,
The Mercer-Colmes Family
