Guyana Hockey Board - Artificial Turf Hockey Field
Tax deductible
Hey folks:
This Go Fund Me effort is an attempt to raise funds for the Guyana Hockey Board to buy, transport and install used artificial turf in Guyana. As most of you know, international hockey is played on artificial turf and this has been the case since 1976. Since that time, all of the countries in the Pan American region have installed artificial turf hockey fields. Except one. You guessed it: Guyana!
As a result, Guyana’s regional standing in the sport has plummeted, and it’s only with recent competitions that the country is finally beginning to rise up, a phenomenon that amazes most observers of the game, once they are made aware that Guyana has never had an artificial turf hockey field.
This current effort is entirely self funded, with no assistance from any governmental or non governmental entity. The Board has managed to acquire a number of rolls of used artificial turf, and will likely install them to create small sized fields so that the game can be spread throughout Georgetown, at least. We are attempting to have one of those fields be the Old Fort field at the Thomaslands YMCA. The goal amount we need in order for us to do this is $8,038 USD.
We have set up this Go Fund Me account to raise these funds. To ensure transparent and efficient handling of the funds, we have partnered with the Guyanese American Cultural Association of Central Florida, a reputable non-profit organization. They will facilitate the collection and disbursement of the funds to the Guyana Hockey Board of Control, ensuring every penny is utilized for its intended purpose.
No contribution is too small, and every dollar counts. Your support, be it through financial assistance or by sharing our cause with your network, will make a world of difference.
Sincerely,
