Guy and Justin Eldridge House Fire Waco Texas

Donation protected

On Saturday, February 20, 2021, the home of my father and brother Guy Eldridge (age 73) and son Justin Eldridge (age 36) caught fire. After an early morning of doing errands and house chores, both decided to take a small nap.  At about 3:40 pm Justin was woken by loud noises next to his bedroom window. He went to see if my dad need help with something when he walked into the living room he found the back end of the house was engulfed with flames. The two barely made escaped the home in time. Once outside Justin realized that their 5 dogs were inside, he ran in the front door to attempt to get all the dogs out. Unable to withstand the intense heat and smoke sadly he could only found 3. By the time the multiple fire departments the fire was so large it took the fire crews until almost midnight to get the fire out.

After our dad served 2 tours in Vietnam, he met our mom Kay Eldridge he was by her side at all times till the day she passed. The two purchased the home together in Beverly Hills Texas about 38 years ago. They raised us and many unofficial kids in the neighborhood in this home. They created a home for not just us but for anyone and every that needed it. The door was always open, no matter what was needed or who needed it the door was open. This home that they built together for our family and community, was lost in the fire. When our mother passed in 2013 all her belonging were kept in her room just as she left it when she passed. Justin has stayed with our dad to help him, as well as help with the upkeep of the home.  The house along with everything inside was lost along with 3 automobiles.  Guy and Justin love classic cars, in the fire my dad's beloved 1955 Belair was completely destroyed. Justin lost his 70s GMC pickup the two were restoring with my 8-year-old son.

They are now staying with our family in our small 3 bedroom home. We have been able to have our two kids share a room so that they have a place to stay and be close to us.  We only have a full-size bed in the room, which is not large enough for them both. We are trying to find a bed that will better work for our dad's medical needs. While they have received some clothes, personal care items, and some funds, we have also purchased items that we could afford for them. We are trying to raise the funds or get items such as clothes, jackets, medical supplies, furniture, shoe, house items, and so much more.

As they only made it out with only the clothes they had on and the 3 dogs the list of things needed is hard to even put together.  My father and brother are the most amazing men and would never ask for help, we are doing all we can to get them everything they need. When my mom passed she told me it was up to me to take care of them and which I have done my best to live up to that promise. I will continue to do everything that I can, but I am asking for your help to take care of them. Their needs are so much more than I can do on my own, I am asking you all to please help me to help these special men in my life.

Thank you from a daughter and sister doing all she can for the men that mean the whole world to her.
