Welcome to the home page for team Guatabuild It! We are joining forces with buildOn and the All-Star Team Global Build to raise money to build schools all over the world. Please join us to help break the cycle of poverty and illiteracy with buildOn!
We're proud to be part of a buildOn team that is currently fundraising to build a school in Guatemala, one of the world's economically poorest countries. Our team will soon be traveling to a rural village in Guatemala to break ground on this school, and we would appreciate your help!
buildOn is a global nonprofit that has partnered with villages for nearly 30 years to build 1,500+ primary schools in Nicaragua, Haiti, Malawi, Nepal and three West African countries. There are currently more than 187,000 students attending these schools!
The UN Human Development Index ranks Guatemala as the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Of the 16 million people living in Guatemala, 29 percent of the population live below the poverty line of US $1.90 a day and 59 percent are unable to read or write. But despite the severe challenges in Guatemala, once our buildOn school are open, more than 950 children and adults will attend every day.

buildOn schools are constructed by volunteers like my team, in partnership with the very people who benefit from them, which means your support not only educates - it also empowers an entire community to lift themselves out of poverty.
