Grub was born with Mucopolysaccharidosis Type VII, a rare genetic condition that affects his bones, joints, and mobility. Over time, it took away his ability to walk. Watching that happen has been heartbreaking, because Grub is full of curiosity and determination. He still wants to explore, play, and be part of the world around him.

Grub is my life, and knowing his time is likely limited by this disease has made me even more determined to give him the fullest life possible. When he lost the ability to walk, I refused to believe that was the end of his adventures. With the help of a dedicated friend, Grub received a motorized wheelchair, and seeing him move independently again meant everything to me.

Now I’m asking for help to keep that freedom going. Donations will support Grub’s ongoing medical care, mobility equipment, and important upgrades to his electric wheelchair, including a pressure-sensitive joystick, collision-avoidance sensors, and a safer, more comfortable platform. These improvements would help him move through the world with more safety and independence.

This fundraiser is also part of a bigger hope: moving toward a product that can be used more universally by pets with disabilities. Right now, though, my focus is Grub and making sure he has every chance to enjoy the time he has.
