It was in this spirit that we, at Congregation B’nai Israel in Boca Raton, Florida, created a campaign called “Grow to Give.” In this exciting program, Congregants are growing out their hair until our Grow to Give Celebration on Sunday, November 2, 2014. Each participant will be donating eight to ten inches or more of his or her hair to an organization that makes wigs for cancer patients undergoing treatment. Hairdressers from all over the county will join us at CBI to cut the hair of all the participants that have grown to give.
Participants can register at www.cbiboca.org/growtogive.
Won’t you please support us in our cause and help us create a positive impact on our world?
To help us, you don’t have to grow your hair! In addition to collecting hair for wigs, we also hope to raise funds for cancer research and for our Kantor Family Center for Justice (KFCJ). We hope to donate our proceeds to the American Cancer Society, Chai Lifeline, and JACOB International (Jews Against Cancer of the Breast), as well as our very own social action arm of our synagogue that works feverishly to help others who are in need. Our fundraising goal is $5,000, but with your help, we will surpass that amount.
We appreciate all donations – no amount is too small!!
So, please join us in this global cause. With your support, we will undoubtedly inspire widespread acts of loving kindness—gemilut chasadim.
