Griffin Flick's Brain Tumor Fund
Donation protected
Griffin, is a very active 11 year old boy, suddenly diagnosed with a 2mm brain tumor in his frontal lobe on, October 9, 2014.
He had suffered in silence for over 1 year with strange feelings of being "shocked" throughout his body and hearing music /voices in his head. He was scared, confused and at times paranoid, all related to the location of the tumor in his frontal lobe. Eventually, these feelings began to disrupt his life significantly, making him unable to play the sports he loves or socialize with his friends, without being consumed with fear and anxiety.
The diagnosis confirmed that the tumor has caused Griffin to have Epilepsy. He experiences, a rare form of seizure called, Gelastic Seizures (aka: laughing seizures), as well as, Simple Partial Seizures that create both motor and sensory deficits to him . Even on multiple medications, he continues to experience these seizures up to 10 times a day, everyday, filling his life with constant upset. His physicians at both UCSF and CHLA have tried hard to avoid surgery, but we are left with no other options.
Griffin is now scheduled for 2 brain surgeries at CHLA, beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2015.
At this time, his medical bills, travel expeneses and time off work have become a financial difficulty for his family to maintain. Please consider donating, any afforded amount, to support Griffin's medical fund. Your donations are GREATLY appreciated! Thank you, so much.
