Greg Raines Memorial Fund
Greg recently passed away, after a 9 month battle with cancer.
Greg was a devoted father, husband, friend, and coworker, respected by all, and admired by many.
Throughout work and life, Greg always commanded respect, remained empathetic, collaborative, always willing to lend a hand, and to step outside of his comfort zone.
He will leave an indelible absence, and a mark on all the lives he touched.
We’d like to share a personal story about Greg’s generosity, from about 15 years ago:
There was a really nice Administrative Assistant that worked in our group, and she had set up a charity to provide Christmas trees to underprivileged families. Greg was part of a volunteer effort to sell trees for his kid’s boy scout troop every year. After hearing about this, Greg always made sure that he personally drove all the left over trees to our friend so she could, in turn, donate them through her charity. I only found out about it years later after running into her at the parking lot where she was driving a car full of pine that she pointed out came from Greg. He and I talked multiple times a day back then, and he had never mentioned doing this for her, or her charity.
Greg is survived by his wife Laurie, and his 4 children, the youngest an early teenager.
We are all devastated by Greg’s loss. We want to give Greg the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes.
We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Greg’s funeral.
Thank you so much.
