Meet Grayson Hibbard!
Grayson and his twin brother, Caleb, were born on April 15th, 2022. In the days leading up to the boys’ birth, the Hibbards learned some concerning news about the development of Grayson’s brain. Just a few weeks into his life, he was diagnosed with a very rare brain injury. The doctors gave the Hibbard family an incredibly grim prognosis and their entire world was changed.
Quickly, the Hibbards consulted with multiple specialists, connected with a team of therapists, and worked with experts in the neurology field. Megan and Jordan, Grayson’s rockstar parents, have fought an uphill battle to care for and advocate for Grayson. By the grace of God, he has already experienced a million miracles in his life! He has made progress that the initial doctor projected he never would.
As he has grown, he has continued to face developmental and neurological obstacles. They have had developmental setbacks, scary medical events, and hospital stays — and though sometimes facing discouragement, the Hibbards have never lost hope. As they continued to pursue avenues to best support their son, they stumbled upon an organization called Doman International.
Doman International is an international organization that specializes in child brain development. They are a team of highly skilled doctors, neurologists, neurophysiologists, and nutritionists who take a team approach to equipping parents to know how to heal, grow, and develop their child’s injured brain. Their goal is to actually heal the brain rather than just teaching your child to “walk”, “talk”, etc. like most traditional therapists are focused on — knowing these things will come if the brain is healthy.
They have worked with parents, like the Hibbards, for over 60 years and have seen some pretty miraculous results! Take a look at their website — many of their graduates have been able to catch back up with their peers and rejoin them at school.
The Hibbards have had a series of interviews with the team at Doman International, and they feel Grayson is a strong candidate for the program! God’s hand has been on them through the entire process, and his timing to bring them to this program is perfect. But, of course, the journey to healing will be incredibly intensive.
-> There will be 4 straight weeks of nightly online training to give them the foundational info for the program.
-> Following that, they will spend a week in Philadelphia with Grayson, working with their doctors to create a customized development plan for Grayson.
-> Then, they will return home with an incredibly intensive daily regimen for Grayson. It will be a minimum of a 2-year daily commitment to working the program with him consistently.
-> Every 6 months, until Grayson graduates from the program, they will visit Philadelphia to monitor his progress and reevaluate his next steps.
A journey like this brings a heavy burden to any family. Above all, they are requesting your prayers for Grayson, themselves, as well as their other two sons. But also, we want to tangibly support them as they walk this path toward healing. As you can imagine, the cost of the program, medical follow-up, therapies, travel, lodging, child care, etc. is quite overwhelming.
Please pray and consider how the Lord may be leading you to contribute to their journey financially. I know personally, that it is a great privilege to be a part of contributing to the miracles they will see in Grayson’s life!
