Our question to you today is – what would you do in 10 months? When you ask Nathan Grant a cute little 6 year old with a smile that lights up your heart, he might say…some of the things I did in the last 10 months were…I got to go to kindergarten and make new friends, played soccer, went on a family trip to the mountains in North Carolina, went to a summer art camp, I ran a 5K at my school and ran the bases at a Daytona Tortugas baseball game, I adopted Nate Dog who is my therapy dog, and also I got to drink from a water fountain (something I couldn't do while on treatment).

You see, Nathan was diagnosed with leukemia when he was just 2 years old and then for the next 3 years he endured treatments to fight this terrible disease. He completed his treatment in October of 2015. Nathan had 10 months free and then early into this new school year, he began suffering migraine headaches. The frequent trips to Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital in Orlando began again, and ultimately Nathan had to be admitted. After all the tests were run and the results came in, the news The family dreaded had come... Nathan had relapsed. The Grant family’s world was rocked once again, but it was this sweet little boy who told everyone that he would fight again and that he would win!

So he began this new this treatment plan which will add 2 more years of intensive chemo with radiation that will require many overnight stays at Arnie in Orlando.
Nathan will forego 1st grade at Chisholm, and take part in the hospital homebound program. His mom, Jenn – a 2nd grade teacher will be taking a leave of absence to care for Nathan.  We are convinced that THIS amazing community and its extended family can make this fight easier on them.  While there are countless events being planned in their honor, we know this page will make it easy for those far away or unable to attend a local event.

The family and friends of the Grants thank you from the bottom of our hearts for showing how much you care! No amount it too small and will go a long way in helping the family make this trying time a little lighter.
