We are Cortland community members interested in making our community a more beautiful and inviting place to live, work and play. Help us support beautify our community and support the arts!
This fundraiser will support a mural painted in the Homer Ave plaza in Cortland on the North wall facing the Grace Brown House. Artist Crystal Lyon will lead the creative process and volunteer organizing process, along with supporting artist Ashe Martin.
The mural will be painted in August 2023 and community members, including residents at the Grace Brown House, will be invited to participate in painting, no experience required!
Cost Structure: The entire wall is roughly 20 feet wide and 23 feet high. Here's our rough budget breakdown:
Materials we will need that are critical:

- 115 square feet (1/4 of the wall at $35 a square foot) - $4,025 (GOAL COMPLETED!)
- 230 square feet (1/2 the wall at $30 a square foot) - $6,900
- 460 square feet (whole wall at $25 a square foot) - $11,5000
Materials we will need that are critical:
- Wall primer (at least a gallon to repair parts of the wall.
- A lift (donated if possible)
- Paints (donated by Golden Paints and purchased through donation funds)
- Painting materials such as fresh paint brushes, rollers, pans, etc.
- Artist fee for design creation, painting and volunteer organizing
