Orlando Vidal: A life of Service Remembered

Dear friends, family, and kind hearted strangers,

It is with a heavy heart, that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved brother, uncle, and dear friend, Orlando Vidal.

On Saturday, August 2nd 2025, Orlando was helping a fellow church member, with a service project. Everyone who knew him knows that he was always willing to help others, anytime anywhere, he was there with a smile ready to help and serve those who needed his help whether it was a stranger or a friend, he never hesitated to help in any way that he could. While working on the service project, he fell and suffered a very severe injury to his head, resulting in a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury). He was rushed to the hospital where doctors quickly placed Orlando in a medically induced coma. After 2 brain surgeries, countless medical procedures, and 24/7 care from his doctors and nurses at the University of Louisville Hospital Trauma ICU center, Orlando peacefully passed after fighting in the hospital for 8 days on August 10th, 2025.

As we are all grieving with this unexpected tragedy, we kindly ask for help to cover funeral expenses as well as to help us bring Orlando’s body back home, so that he may be laid to rest with his father in Mexico. No matter how big or how small, anything is greatly appreciated during this difficult time. May God bless you all. Queridos amigos, familiares, y extraños de buen corazón,

Con gran pesar, anunciamos el inesperado fallecimiento de nuestro querido hermano, tío y querido amigo, Orlando Vidal.

El sábado 2 de agosto de 2025, Orlando estaba ayudando a un compañero de la iglesia con un proyecto de servicio. Todos los que lo conocieron saben que siempre estaba dispuesto a ayudar a los demás, en cualquier momento y lugar. Siempre estaba allí, con una sonrisa, dispuesto a ayudar y servir a quienes lo necesitaban, ya fueran desconocidos o amigos. Nunca dudó en ayudar en todo lo que pudo. Mientras trabajaba en el proyecto de servicio, se cayó y sufrió una lesión cerebral muy grave, que le provocó un traumatismo craneoencefálico (TCE). Fue trasladado de urgencia al hospital, donde los médicos le indujeron rápidamente un coma. Tras dos cirugías cerebrales, innumerables procedimientos médicos y la atención 24/7 de sus médicos y enfermeras en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI) de Trauma del Hospital Universitario de Louisville, Orlando falleció en paz tras ocho días de estar luchando en el hospital el 10 de agosto de 2025.

Dado el profundo dolor de esta inesperada tragedia, solicitamos su ayuda para cubrir los gastos funerarios y para que podamos traer el cuerpo de Orlando a casa, para que pueda descansar junto a su padre en México. Cualquier ayuda, por pequeña o grande que sea, es muy apreciada en estos momentos difíciles. Que Dios los bendiga. Les agradecemos de corazón su amor, apoyo y oraciones durante este difícil momento.
