"Let's Get Michael a Prosthetic Hand!"

Donation protected

As many of you have heard Michael Elizalde, who is only 21 years old, was in an accident on a family camping trip in November of 2013 that left him without his left hand and forearm. Michael is a very active person who greatly loves the outdoors. His passions include hiking, fishing, camping, archery, and riding, to mention just a few. But he is, most of all, passionate about serving his God. He is a warm hearted person with a great sense of humor who truly loves his faith, family, and friends. He is loved by everyone who knows him and your life is certainly "richer" for having crossed paths with him.
It has been a painful struggle, both physically and emotionally, in the effort to save his arm. In just the first month he underwent six surgeries! Unfortunately, the damage was just to extensive and amputation was necessary in order to save his life. Hopefully, his skin graft, the seventh surgery, will be the last and final one. Needless to say, it has been extremely difficult for everyone who loves Michael. Following his last surgery he will need a prosthetic hand and forearm. As you may have guessed a decent one is pretty pricey. Michael and his family can really use all of our support to help make his recovery from this accident and transition into life without a hand as easy as possible. Let's all join together and give Michael a hand...literally!
