It started with a broken tooth that cut the right side of my tongue. It healed then came back and after having my tooth fixed my tongue still did not heal.
I took different antiibiotics. I told my dentist the pain is worse then before and my ear started having secondary pain from the cut. Four weeks later I went to see an ENT Doctor and he looked at me and said"You have cancer," I was in shock never did I think that and I was sent to University of Miami Head and Neck oncology at the Sylvester Center.
That was June 29,2015, I went had my PET scan and CT Scan and took them to my biopsy appointment where they were able to read it and the final diagnosis was STAGE SQUAMOUS CELL CA OF RT TONGUE AND HAD METASTISIZE TO MY RT LYMPHNODES (6) I has surgery removal 65% of tongue and left and right side lymphnodes which they said was very aggressive cancer and now you need 30 radiation treatments with chemo. I work hard don't drink and still this happened. I leave it in the lords hands but everyday I try to get stronger for the next step. I have a nasal feeding tube not doing well with the liquid foods so any suggestions what I can do will help, sooooo hungry and need the calories for the next step and I have a trachea until the swelling of my tongue goes down to allow me to see what food if any I may eat.
If it was not for the love of my life who I've known since I was seventeen years old the only man and father to our son and everyone at FPL who have stood behind my husband in this time of need we don't know what we could have done to continue in our battle. I do have my good days and bad and now plead for anyone who knows and has had this terrible disease that we all must fight to survive. Life is to short and now after seeing the hope and prayers it has allowed me to stop living in overdrive and fight this thing that so quickly changed my life and everyone who lives with me. I am appealing for help since the cost is so high and we are at our wits end. I know that God has a a plan for all of us and I thank you all for any kind donation you can afford to help us to get back to some normal life and to be able to do for others as they have for us. I thank you all for taking the time to read my story and hope that with your prayers and wishes I will be able to have some life to see my first grand child and many other firsts till it is time for me to say goodbye.
