Everyone deserves a fun, cool, amazing Aunt and we were blessed with the BEST in Glenda! Glenda has just endured a long complicated 6 part surgery for a Rare Stage 4 Cancer. As this is her second devastating medical diagnosis of Cancer we are asking for financial assistance for her to concentrate on a FULL recovery. Her first Cancer journey required years of recovery, testing and out of pocket dental costs and travel. Having to give up a career she loved in the Medical Field and financial losses she hasn’t quite recovered from.
A little bit about her diagnosis.
• Recently diagnosed with stage 4 Maxillary Sinus Cancer after many trips to Edmonton for a dental surgery, biopsy, scans and appts. The devastating news came in August 2025, 10 years after her last diagnosis in 2014/15 of tonsil and lympnode cancer which resulted in surgery, radiation and chemo treatments and caused years of healing and long-term radiation affects that led to her 30 year career in nursing to end.
• Glenda is facing a grueling 14hr 6 part surgery that will result in a long recovery time, hospital stay and long term follow up. Glenda has already received her LIFETIME dose of radiation so we're praying her fantastic surgeon in Edmonton can achieve negative margins to put her on the road to recovery.
• Anyone that knows Glenda can attest to her strong will to survive while keeping an upbeat positive attitude regardless of the struggle. She is the definition of a warrior and a positive light to all!
• Glenda would and has crossed oceans to help those in need and was never one to back down from a challenge.
• She is a veteran of the CAF and a mentor for ppl struggling with their own diagnosis of Head and Neck Cancers. She is fierce supporter of family! Myself and my Cousin Janeatt as well as Glenda’s only child, my Cousin Kayla are asking that we come together and relieve some of the financial burden of travel, accommodations and loss of income for Glenda’s partner Jerome. To allow Glenda and her partner concentrate on her healing without the stress of another financial blow.
*Glenda’s goal is to return to NI and spend time with family and friends and continue with the healing process. She's been facing 5 hour travel times to appts that result in overnight stays and sometimes up to 4 night stays depending on appts..this will increase after surgery and her support team of Jerome and her daughter Kayla will insure she gets the best possible care and gets on the road to recovery. Her only child Kayla has flown from Newfoundland to be with her.
Update.
Glenda has made it through the gruelling surgery! After surgery there were some complications and she had to have another surgery. But we are so grateful to her amazing Surgeon! TW I am enclosing some medical pictures.
Glenda is a humble and giving person. It was difficult to convince her that it is her turn to receive. Words of encouragement, sharing your own story and sharing this Go Fund Me is also very much appreciated.
Much love,
Nancy, Janeatt and Kayla on behalf of our amazing Glenda.
Glenda favorite saying

Current Update.
Glenda has been discharged. Her, Kayla and Gerome are staying in an Air B and B in Edmonton close to the hospital as they live in Fort Mac. They will be staying there for quite some time as Glenda recovers. Glenda has home care that comes in to change bandages and keep an eye on her dressings and progress. Kayla and Gerome would like to extend much gratitude and thanks for all that have donated through here, personally, all those who have shared and all your words of encouragement for Glenda. It means the world to them all. Much love.
UPDATE:
Glendas appts went well in Edmonton and Dr's are pleased with her progress.
They are optimistic about getting good margins so best case scenario would be no treatments with immunotherapy but it's still on the table. Returning to Edmonton for PET scan in 7 weeks so she has time to heal and rest. She wishes to thank everyone for their continued support, positive encouragement, visits and gifts of delicious meals. She is overwhelmed by your
generosity and love. Kayla has returned to NI after 7 weeks and her and Jerome were the best caregivers/support she could have asked for. Please continue to keep her in your prayers.
