Glenda's Fight for Her Life

Donation protected
In August 2018, my Mother, Glenda, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
Shortly after the diagnosis, she underwent surgery and proceeded with six treatments of Chemotherapy; which ended in December 2018.

Starting the new year, Glenda's mindset was centered around recovery as she was motivated to get her life back.

The early stages of the year went fairly smooth as the effects of Chemo started to dissipate. Glenda's hair was growing back, her nails started to clear and she was regaining her strength, sound mind, and energy. However, as the days and weeks went by - we started noticing symptoms that were too faint to pinpoint.

One symptom after the next... One doctor visit after the next... Another scan here, and prescribed meds there -- Then another test here, and prescribed meds there...
It was very hard to know which thread to follow.
Outside of her symptoms being neurological, her Doctors couldn't venture anything more than an open-ended guess.

Fast forward to today (and more tests), we've learned that Glenda's cancer had metastasized. She has been diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer.
While symptoms have worsened over time, they have stabilized in their condition.
Glenda can't walk or stand - she can hardly swallow - her vision is impaired and her speech has weakened. With all glory to God, Glenda is still one hundred percent in her right-mind and she refuses to back down from this!
Her mindset and spirit have been phenomenal, to say the least. Sometimes, I just can't even believe the strength of this woman.
It hasn't been easy. We've had multiple scares, plenty of trying days and dips in motivation but our faith and her choice to fight nullifies it all.

Our fight to save my Mom's life has been passionate and ongoing.
Our primary focus is for her to continuously receive the best care, therapy and treatment possible. As we see it, Glenda's current condition is fairly stable and she is being monitored closely.

Unfortunately, Glenda has been out of work for some time and out-of-pocket expenses have become overwhelming for her and myself during this journey. Medical bills, transports, formulas, supplements, home care, equipment, etc on top of personal financial responsibilities. Additionally - following a discharge, Glenda will need long-term care to continue with physical, occupational, speech and nutritional therapy to help with recovery.

With all being said, we are reaching out for help to friends, family and genuine supporters of life to help us offset the financial strain while we strive to support the care Glenda needs as she FIGHTS FOR HER LIFE.

With your help, we can achieve our goal to help Glenda concentrate on getting better and alleviate as much stress as possible outside of that.

We truly appreciate every bit of your love and help during these trying times.
Thank you for the continued prayers, thoughts and positivity.

We believe the Lord is working.

With love and gratitude,
Shay
