Medical & At Home Care for Glenda

Donation protected
We (my siblings and I) are setting up this account to ask for help in reagrds to immediate care for our mom.

I am ashamed in not doing something like this sooner. I believe we all were hoping that she would just "bounce back" like a typical operation described in most text book cases. But, this has been anything but typical.

Most of us, as we have been able, have gone to their home to help in any capacity that we could. As I know some amazing people from their church Bible Baptist have come in and graciously, freely given of their time. I pray God's blessings for each of you as I know your kindness has meant so much and could never be repaid.

Our dad has never left her side.  We have been able to manage to get him to take a few appointments and get some rest, but if any of you know him, you know that took some doing!

We are starting this campain so we can have a place for us to help support them, but also for some family and friends that have offered help will have a way to do so.

We would like to be able to help them hire someone to come in to clean and care  for mom so dad can have some time to take care of appointments for work and have more quality time for her.

Aside from her initial hospital "visit", which was longer than anticipated, she has been back twice. She is actually there as I type this. I know they have insurance, but the bills are going to be astronomical.

I should have waited to make a post as the doctor was in and advised in view of low red blood cells and blood transfusion is needed. Hopefully, when this is done she will feel even better. She did walk this morning and losing the 4 pounds is helpful. Things are going to continue to improve with each passing day. Once we see the plastic surgeon we should know when we are going home.

Glenda was weighed this morning and lost 4 more pounds. Once she sees the plastic surgeon we will know when she goes home. Her wounds are looking better. We are finally on the right path to recovery. It's been a long 3 months. We feel like we missed this summer completely. Thanks to everyone for your prayers. God has been working in our lives

In the past two days Glenda has lost 2 pounds, which is great and if she continues to do that she will be able to better take care of herself. Her cardiologist, who has been on vacation, finally came back and has ordered all kinds of blood tests. Hopefully, the reults will be good. Today the plastic surgeon is supposed to see her again to see how her wounds are doing and advise if he feels a change needs to be made. The wounds are looking better and we pray that it continues. All the prayers being offered on Glenda's behalf are working and I am hopeful we will be able to go home today or tomorrow at the latest, but I want to make certain it is not too soon and that she will not have to come to the hospital again.

I know it is early but when Glenda was weighed this morning she has lost another 2 pounds. I am beginning to think we are finallly on the right track. Also, her wounds are looking better, even though it will be several months before they are completely healed they are looking better and not worse. I know some folks love the wound vac but two times, after being on the wound vac, she was sent back to the hospital. I believe that every person is different and just because something works well on most it does not mean it will work best on everyone. Not sure if a doctor will be in this weekend but as long as she continues to improve we are pleased.

Cardiologist was in and even though we suspected it is official Glenda has heart failure which can be treated but it seems like things keep going on. We are trusting the Lord for healing and complete victory.

As you can see, some progress has been made, but there is still a long and winding road ahead.

I know that my parents will appreciate any and all help. I called them this morning to let them know my siblings and I, along with their grandkids have been speaking to each other on their behalf as to what we could do to help support them more. I will just say it was a very heartfelt conversation and mom was overwhelmed at the love and care for her.

Any of you that know her, knows that she would not ask this for herself. She freely gives of herself to help those around her, her husband, her children, her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, she helps her mom, her friends, and her church. If you go to her house you will never leave hungry.  And if you are special enough to be her's, she will make sure you have your favorite meal!

Well, she is ours! And we could never thank her enough or repay all the prayers, tears, hugs, laughs, amazing meals, and just plain putting up with us.  Please help us to help them!

With all that I am I thank you for your consideration and help!! May God richly bless each of you for your kindness!!
