Help send us to Taekwondo Nationals

Donation protected
Hello Everyone!

We are trying to raise money for our team the Glen Burnie Dragons of Kims Karate to go to the AAU Taekwondo Nationals in Fort Lauderdale, FL of 2015. It is a week long tournament and expenses are adding up for this.

Heres a little bit about the boys...

First off, theres Buddha his real name is Jordan, he is 11 years old and a black belt. Buddha (as everyone calls him) is a huge advocate for anti-bullying and has spoken to younger students and thier classes about it, he is a member of the National Honors Society, School Safety, Mathlete, Honor Roll student, Computer Club, Art Club, Band, Chorus, donated his weekends to Costco to help out with the Childrens Miracle Network (he dressed up as a teddy bear and walked around for donations) and accepted to the International Ambassadors Program.

He has been to more than 20 tournaments and won gold more than anything else. He wants nothing more to be an Automotive and Mechanical Engineer when he grows up and work for Voltswagen and design the next Bugatti.

He is one of those kids that works hard and has drive, if he sets a goal- he will reach it, no matter what. He set a goal when he was 6 that he wanted to be a National Champion by the time he is 11... he's 11 now.

Next there is, Preston...

Preston is a highly enthusiastic and gregarious nine year old that began his Taekwondo (TKD) journey at the young age of five. He is currently at the brown senior belt level and is working towards the attainment of his Black Belt certification next year. He has aspirations of remaining in TKD for life and says he hopes to become a Grand Master one day. He has enjoyed great success competing in both the TKD elements of forms competition and Olympic Sparring.

Preston is a very dedicated 3rd grader in school with great interest in animals and science.  Preston has qualified for the Nationals several years in a row and is looking forward to this exciting opportunity to compete for the first time at the national level with his two Dragon Teammates!

And last be certainly not least is Hunter,

Mr. Hunter is a 1st Degree Black Belt. He was first introduced to the Martial Arts at the age of 5. He has learned to apply his TKD training not only physically but mentally in maintaining Determination, Patience, Respect and Control of when his art is to be used in order to defend.  He continues to compete in Olympic Sparring and Forms; his specialty is Sparring to which he continually places in 1st or 2nd Place. He has qualified for Nationals for the past 4 yrs.

Hunter takes pride in assisting his Instructors in class, being a role model for the Lower Belts in addition to being a Jr Staff in the summer. He's proud in being an Honor Roll and Student of the month. At 14 his future goals is to become a 2nd Degree Black Belt and to own a Limousine Company. It will truly be memorable for him participate in his first National Competition with his two teammates.

Coaching our Dragons Team assault on the nationals is 7th degree Black Belt Master Victor Battung.  Master Victor is a very well accomplished martial artist who enjoyed great success competing in his own right for many years.

Master Victor started practicing Shodokan in 1971, Taekwondo (TKD) in 1977 and has been instructing martial arts since 1978.  He believes in traditional techniques and old school values instilling in his students the five tenants of TKD being COURTESY, INTEGRITY, PERSEVERANCE, SELF-CONTROL and an INDOMITABLE SPIRIT.

Master Victor is very well known throughout the martial arts community.  The Dragons Team is very lucky and blessed to have such a well-respected and accomplished martial artist coaching the team.
