Hello. I'm Marce, and this is the most vulnerable and urgent truth of my life. At 19 years old, I find myself in a race against time: I urgently need a liver transplant to keep living. This is not a wish; it is the only way for my life to continue, as my Lupus has caused terminal liver failure that can no longer wait.

The Diagnosis That Changed My Life

At the age of 9, my life changed drastically with the diagnosis of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), an autoimmune disease that has been silently waging a war inside me.

Over the years, Lupus has left its mark, affecting vital organs such as my heart, lungs, and skin. Today, my most affected organ is my liver. The damage has progressed to a critical point, making the transplant my only hope.

The Unseen Battle

One of the biggest obstacles we face is that, physically, I often appear to be well. But inside, I live a painful reality: days when my body simply doesn't respond, days of fear, anguish, and the feeling that this disease is slowly consuming me.

My family and I have organized countless events and knocked on every possible door, but we have reached a standstill, and every day that passes is one day less to reach this opportunity. Even so, I wake up with faith and the conviction that everything will turn out well.

Our Goal: $130,000 (One Million Quetzales)

The liver transplant, along with pre- and post-operative medical costs, immunosuppressive medications, and long-term recovery, are extremely high. We need to raise $130,000 (One Million Quetzales) to cover the critical expenses that will allow us to proceed with the medical procedure.

The process is complex: I must undergo tests along with my donor before the surgery. There will be two operations lasting approximately 19 hours, followed by a recovery period of approximately four weeks in intensive care, plus any necessary ongoing care depending on the evolution of both my body and my donor's.

A mis 19 años, me encuentro en una carrera contra el tiempo: necesito urgentemente un trasplante de hígado para seguir viviendo. Este no es un deseo, es la única vía para que mi vida continúe, ya que mi Lupus ha provocado una falla hepática terminal que no puede esperar más.

El Diagnóstico que Cambió mi Vida:

A los 9 años, mi vida cambió drásticamente con el diagnóstico de Lupus Eritematoso Sistémico (LES), una enfermedad autoinmune que, silenciosamente, ha estado librando una guerra dentro de mí.

Con el paso de los años, el Lupus ha ido dejando su huella, afectando órganos vitales como el corazón, los pulmones y la piel. Hoy, mi órgano más afectado es mi hígado. El daño ha progresado a un punto crítico, por lo que el trasplante es mi única esperanza.

La Lucha que No se Ve:

Uno de los mayores obstáculos que enfrentamos es que, físicamente, muchas veces aparento estar bien. Pero por dentro vivo una realidad dolorosa: días en que el cuerpo simplemente no me responde, días de miedo, angustia y el sentimiento de que esta enfermedad me consume poco a poco.

Mi familia y yo hemos organizado innumerables eventos y hemos tocado todas las puertas posibles, pero nos hemos estancado, y cada día que pasa es un día menos para alcanzar esta oportunidad. Aun así, me levanto con fe y con la convicción de que todo saldrá bien.

Nuestra Meta: Q1,000,000

El trasplante de hígado, los costos médicos pre y postoperatorios, medicamentos inmunosupresores y la recuperación a largo plazo son extremadamente elevados. Necesitamos recaudar 1 millón para cubrir los gastos críticos que nos permitirán seguir adelante con el procedimiento médico. Debo hacerme exámenes junto con mi donador antes de la cirugía, son dos operaciones de aproximadamente 19 horas, la recuperación aproximadamente 4 semanas en cuidados intensivos más lo cuidados que sean necesarios dependiendo la evolución de mi cuerpo y la de mi donador.

Hoy, mi mayor deseo es sencillo: un futuro. Poder estudiar, vivir sin dolor y sin miedo, y construir los sueños que esta enfermedad ha intentado arrebatarme.
