If y'all know Ginger and Jesse and their kids...you already love them.

This past year has been extremely challenging for their family. Please read their story below and give as you feel led!

Jesse and Ginger have four kids:

All four kids have been diagnosed with congenital Lyme disease.  Congenital Lyme expresses itself mostly through neurological symptoms and can be VERY complicated. So in addition to the Lyme...they also each have Sensory Processing Disorder. This means they are often overwhelmed by lights, noise, textures, smells and even temperatures.

Child #1 has ADHD, Aspergers, and central processing delays. She also has issues with what she calls "inner hotness" where she has what would be like hot flashes from the co-infection Babesia. She has recently started to have heart issues and we are concerned she could be developing POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome).

Child #2 also has Aspergers with anxiety. She is highly sensitive to pain and her body interprets a lot of things as pain that most would not even consider to be slightly painful.

Baby #3 has processing issues. It is hard for him to process both what he hears and what he wants to say. Recently he has started having a lot more issues with his health. His thyroid is low and his cholesterol has been dropping rapidly. He has had growth issues since he was a baby and the recent health issues aren't helping. He has a lot of bone pain and wears out quickly. We are praying we can find the right doctors to help us get the answers we need to stop the digression in his health.

The baby of the family has hearing and speech issues along with her sensory processing. She has one ear with a floppy eardrum and one with a hole from a ruptured eardrum over 2 years ago. Last year her hair started falling out and breaking off. Suspected cause is exposure to toxic mold. She also has a genetic mutation that makes it so she is chronically low in vitamin D.

All 4 kids have the MTHFR mutation along with several others mutations that make it hard for them to detox. This has especially been a problem with the toxic mold in their home and all the toxins that the mold spores put off.

Jesse is also dealing with major health issues. He has injuries in both arms from being in the Navy. He has carpal tunnel in both hands along with ulnar damage on one side. Recently they discovered that the pain he has had in his back the past several years is due to 2 bulging discs in his back.

He potentially has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome like the children. This would explain why his knee caps randomly slide to the side out of place or why his hip goes out and he drops to the ground. He is in constant pain and cannot function without the prescription pain killers the doctors have him on. But he can't work while on all the pain meds, so instead he wraps both hands in ace bandages, wears his knee braces and endures the pain as he umpires. He had a heat stroke last summer so he has to be careful to wear ice packs on his chest so he doesn't sustain another heat stroke. Once you have a heat stroke it leaves you much more susceptible to having another one.

Last year, they also discovered that Jesse has a condition that is considered pre-cancerous. We continue to wait on the VA system to do the scans and tests necessary to rule out full on cancer.

Ginger also has a myriad of health issues that come from having Lyme go so long undiagnosed. She has adrenal insufficiency which means the adrenals no longer produce cortisol. She also has a dysautonomia condition called POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) meaning her body no longer regulates all those things that it normally does automatically. Her heart rate, blood pressure, and even temperature are mostly managed by meds and through learning methods to compensate. She too has Ehlers Danlos and Ankylosing Spondylitis which causes a lot of pain in her joints. The Lyme has destroyed her immune system causing many allergies and migraines.

Ginger's mother has also been under their family's care since last year. She has a neurological condition similar to Parkinson's and ALS called Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.  Within 6 months of moving her mother to an apartment within a mile of their home, Ginger's mother fell and broke her neck. She then moved in with them for awhile until this past month when they realized that she needed 24/7 care.

If that wasn't enough...they sadly discovered almost 2 years ago that there was toxic mold (5 different toxic species including black mold) throughout the walls and floors in their home due to undisclosed storm damage that occurred before their home was purchased.

They were able to rehab the home...but the process was very expensive and the rebuilding process has been slow. They are still in need of a kitchen sink!

As you all know, many treatments for Lyme and sensory processing disorder and other health issues are not always covered by insurance.  So let's support the Fagan family as they seek to help their children and themselves & find the best possible treatment plans possible!!

Let's also help provide them with the funds to finish the renovations in their home.
