Baby Gideon came into this world the day before Thanksgiving. He was 2 months premature and his mamma had to have an emergency c-section followed by a hysterectomy to save her life and his. He is fighting valiently in the NICU where he is dealing with major difficulties due to his under developed lungs. He has a staph infection in both eyes and possible neurological insult.
His Mom and Dad have to travel daily to see him, and take care of his 5 other brothers and sisters. Insurance is not meeting their needs. Sometimes Kandee gets to hold him, but most of the time, she is only able to touch him and sing softly to him.
Dad, Scott was laid off 2 weeks before Gideon's early arrival and because Gideon and Mamma are both struggling health wise, his search for employment has become complicated. The family currently has no insurance and no income. 
Those of you who know Gideon's mom and dad, know that they are loving, generous, kind hearted people. Both Kandee and Gideon are in for a long road to recovery. Medical bills are exhorbitantly high and it is unclear when Gideon will be ready to leave the NICU.
