This story starts when Ryon Knodl joined Best Buddies of Wisconsin in high school. When he graduated high school, he joined the community program of Best Buddies. Through Best Buddies Ryon's parents found out more about Special Olympics. Ryon participates in basketball, track & field, as well as golf.
We were given GREAT news! Ryon and his coach Ken, who golf at level 2, were selected for the Special Olympic Summer Games in Abu Dhabi! This has all happened very quickly and has been surreal for Ryon and his family to experience.
Ryon and Ken will be flying to Delaware in September to attend the National Training Camp. This will be Ryon’s first time flying without his family, he’s a bit nervous!
In March of 2019, Ryon and Ken will be flying to Abu Dhabi to participate in the Special Olympics Summer Games for golf! Ryon's family (mother, father and sister) would really love to attend the event as this is a "once in a lifetime" opportunity. Costs are likely add up quickly because flights alone are at least $2,000 per person. Hotel expenses are assumed to be high as well due to the event going on.
The funds donated will ONLY go towards:
-Any costs that occur regarding Ryon participating in the Special Olympic Summer Games
-Flights for Ryon's immediate family (mother, father and sister)
-Hotel and basic needs for the duration of the Summer Games in Abu Dhabi
****These funds will not be used towards material items such as souvenirs or anything of that nature.
