Help My Dad Walk Again: A Journey of Strength, Loss, and Hope / Pay for his wife’s cancer medical expenses.

Hi, I’m here asking for help for my dad, Steve, and his wife, who are both going through more than anyone should ever have to face.
In 2023, our world turned upside down. My dad lost his left leg due to complications from an infection caused by diabetes. It was sudden, heartbreaking, and completely life-changing. But in true dad fashion, he met it with quiet strength and determination. He went through long, painful therapy sessions, countless hospital visits, and emotional hurdles most people couldn’t imagine.
Through it all, he never lost his humor or his kindness. He kept checking in on us and making sure we were okay, even when he wasn’t. Just as he started adjusting to life with one prosthetic leg, we got hit again. Near the end of 2024, doctors told us his right leg would also need to be amputated. Watching someone you love go through that kind of loss twice is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. But my dad never gave up. His spirit is truly unbreakable. Now he needs new, high-quality prosthetic legs that will give him the mobility and dignity he deserves. The kind that will let him stand tall again, walk beside his loved ones, and hug his grandkids at eye level. But as you can imagine, these prosthetics are expensive, and insurance barely covers a fraction of the cost.
As if that wasn’t enough, we recently got devastating news about his wife. She’s been diagnosed with both brain and lung cancer, and doctors say her time is limited. She’s been fighting bravely, but the medical bills, hospital stays, and medication costs have been overwhelming. Most of it has been out of pocket, and now we’re also preparing for funeral expenses, something no family ever feels ready for. Every dollar donated will go directly toward helping my dad get the prosthetic legs he needs, covering medical and hospital costs for his wife, and easing the financial burden of what’s ahead. Anything extra will go toward making their home more accessible so my dad can remain independent and spend as much time with her as possible.
My dad has always been the rock of our family. Even after losing both legs, he keeps his faith, his humor, and his love for life. He’s still the first to ask how everyone else is doing, still cracking jokes, and still saying, “We’ll be okay,” even when times are hardest.
If you made it this far, Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story and for caring about our family. Whether you can donate, share, or simply send love and prayers our way, it means more than words can say.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
