Help Me Attend the ISSA Awards — Honoring My Father’s Legacy
Hi, I’m Kristen Poulter, and I’m deeply honored to share that I’ve been named a finalist for Female Rising Star of the Year at the International Singer-Songwriters Association (ISSA) Awards this August.
This recognition is more than just an award — it’s a tribute to a lifelong journey of music and resilience. I’m dedicating this moment to my late father, who passed away last July. He was not only my greatest supporter, but also a musician himself. His passion for music shaped who I am today, and I carry his love for song with me every time I write, perform, or share my voice. Standing on that stage in his honor would mean the world to me.
More than anything, I don’t want my parents to miss this moment. They have stood by me through every triumph and every hardship, and having them there to share in this honor would mean everything. I’m reaching out because, right now, attending the awards is financially out of reach for my family and me. I’m hoping to raise funds to cover travel, hotel, and tickets for myself, my husband, my mom, and my stepfather — the people who have stood by me every step of the way.
Here’s a glimpse into our situation:
My stepfather, who has loved and supported me as his own, is currently fighting cancer.
My mother, who can no longer work due to age and health, is helping raise my triplet nieces and care for my disabled sister.
I myself live with a serious cardiovascular condition and am disabled.
My husband is working tirelessly to support me and our family, but we’re struggling to make ends meet.
This awards show is more than just an event — it’s a celebration of family, perseverance, and the music that has carried us all through difficult times. It’s a chance to honor my father’s legacy and the dreams he passed on to me.
Every contribution, big or small, helps make this dream a reality. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this campaign would mean so much.
Thank you for helping me honor my father, my family, and the music that connects us all.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Kristen Poulter
