Education Abroad-Get Me to Morocco!

If you are considering donating to this cause then you most likely know me; however, if you are new to my story why don’t I give some background information. My name is Tyler Miller; I am currently a Junior at Portland State University, and it is my goal to travel to Rabat, Morocco to study Arabic. I am a Portlandian born and raised; however, recently I have come to understand that although Portland is a diverse community accepting of just about anyone – my global perspective is still quite limited. By participating in a yearlong education abroad program I hope to gain insights into a culture that is so far removed from the one that I grew up in. I want to dive into the communities of the Middle-East and learn their most spoken language from the people who speak it day to day. I know that this will be one of the most rewarding opportunities of my entire life. The skills and knowledge I will acquire in Morocco will not only make me a more understanding person, but are things that I can bring back with me and incorporate into my future career and life goals. By donating to my cause, you will give me the opportunity to travel on days when I am outside the classroom -- making me unhindered by financial need or large personal loans.
