Save Our Pup, Get Lilla Home!

My fiance, Merlin, and I were trying to pack to move from our home in Connecticut to New York City where we'd be staying for a short month until flying to California where we plan to set up our permanent home. It was the midnight before our move and we were stressed and frantic trying to finish everything. That's when we heard her. A tiny little puppy, barely 6 months old, crying and crying outside. What we found was Lilla (LEE-la), the little pup. Lilla is swedish for little, and she had earned the name because she was so tiny when we found her.

She had clearly been abandoned, starved, and neglected, and was tied with a belt to a street sign. She smelled of urine and was caked in filth. We immediately brought her inside and gave her water and chicken. Warmed her in a warm bath, and gave her plently of kisses and hugs. She was shaking uncontrollably and looked both terrified and so SO happy to be with people who were showing her so much love and affection. She was so thirsty, she drank nearly 3 bowls of water in just a few minutes. But soon after she spent the rest of night vomiting... the water and few bites of chicken were just too much of a shock to her system. Then, around 4am, she fell asleep in our bed, bundled in blankets.

Since that night that Lilla came into our lives, she has made us unbelievably happy. She is so sweet and playful, even after the terrible life she must have had before we found her. Every day she is getting stronger, but she can still afford to pack on a few pounds ;o)

What we are asking is this: Just a little help to get Lilla home to our family that awaits her in California. Our temporary home in NYC will not allow her to stay, and we cannot stay here. The answer is to get her home to California where a loving, caring, and nurturing home awaits! Then, when we fly out in July, we will reunite with the little pup!

Pet Transport is costly, and requires certifications of health that we need to pay for to have her properly vaccinated and treated for all the abuse she's endured. Our families are doing all they can, but now we need YOU! =] Please give a little, to change the life of this pup forever!

Every dollar is one mile closer to home...

Thank you,
Hannah, Merlin, and our lovable Lilla

PS The specific needs are: Pet Transport across the country, veterinary care and vaccinations, spaying, buying a crate, food, and blankets.

PPS Her first vet bill has been paid and her airline ticket has been bought. All that remains is spaying and a followup vet visit. Thank you so much for your support!!
