Get Hannah To Graz!

First off, congratulations to Hannah Breeze Jolley on being accepted to study abroad in Graz, Austria this summer as part of the Indiana University Honors Program in Foreign Languages! The selection process is rigorous and competive, and for her part Hannah aced the many levels of applications, exams, and interviews to prove she is ready for the challenge of this unique opportunity. This is not only a chance at getting a deep understanding of a language and culture that nomal class study can't compare to, but as part of the program Hannah will also get to give back to the local community by assisting her school's language department teaching other students.
Hannah has done amazing work on her part and now it's our turn! Anything you can contribute gets Hannah one step closer to Austria and one step closer to a once-in-a-lifetime chance to enrich not only herself but others.
Please help make this amazing opportunity a reality! Our first installment for funding this trip is due in just a few short weeks and Hannah cannot get there without you!
~*~ Get Hannah To Graz ~*~
About the Program:
The IUHPFL’s combination of intensive academic instruction, a mandatory Language Commitment to speak only in the foreign language while abroad, and fulltime integration into a host family allows for students to participate in a total immersion experience. IUHPFL students not only gain an exceptional knowledge and understanding of the host culture while abroad, but also make significant strides linguistically.
On average, 25-30 students are selected to participate on each program site with the IUHPFL during the months of June and July. In addition to daily academic instruction and afternoon activities, students learn the host country’s rich history through cultural immersion, visiting museums and memorials, and participating in regional and overnight excursions.
Benefits:
When students return from a summer abroad with the IUHPFL they have evolved in numerous ways, including:
*Highly advanced language proficiency — on average fifth semester college-language level worth on average up to 6 retroactive credit hours
*Greater self-confidence and independence
*Broader world view
*Lifelong bonds and friendships with fellow students, host families and culture
*Profound understanding of the word "culture"
*Greater tolerance for fellow human beings, including peer students, teachers and host culture
