Casey was involved in a serious one car accident early in the morning on Sunday, February 16, 2014, just minutes from her home in a Las Vegas suburb. If you read the above article - you saw the picture of Casey's car and understand what is ahead of her.
By the grace of God Casey survived the horrible accident. She did however, sustain burns on her shoulder and arm, facial lacerations and her most significant injury is to her brain. Casey has a Traumatic Brain Injury.
The burns and the lacerations will heal on a known schedule. The Traumatic Brain Injury, on the other hand, has its own healing schedule. It may take a few months, or a year, or even longer.
The doctors cannot say how long it will take for a full recovery. They can say that familiarity can help with healing. This was proven when Ashley visited Casey and when Melissa & Rusty visited Casey.
Casey surprised all of her caregivers with the improvement she made in the presence of her loved ones.
What we do know:
♥ Casey is a child of God and all things are possible through Him!
♥ Casey is a fighter!
♥ Casey has no-one in Las Vegas to be with her every single day to help her make steady progress.
♥ Casey needs to be moved to Texas as soon as possible so her loved ones can be with her and advocate for her.
While we are still waiting for the doctor to approve her transfer and to tell us what is needed to get Casey back to Texas - Robin has discussed medical transportation with several agencies already.
Casey's car insurance was liability only and she had only been in Vegas a little over a month when the accident happened so she didn't have health insurance through her job yet.
Casey needs our help funding her return to Texas and her recovery. Our prayers have sustained her the past two weeks and now she needs our financial support.
Please pray about it and ask God how much to contribute. Maybe it's a one-time gift, maybe once a month or maybe every week. Let it be between you and God and once you know - please bless Casey with whatever gift you can - and let's get Casey home - and on her road to recovery!!
